What this covers, and what it does not

This page covers the blog on this site only — the posts, the comments on them, and the mailing list for new writing. It is a separate document on purpose.

The Sagoma app has its own Privacy Policy, and health data has its own Consumer Health Data Privacy Policy. Neither is changed by anything here, and nothing you do on this section touches a Sagoma account. You do not need one to read or to comment.

If you leave a comment or a question

Your name

Shown with your comment, exactly as you type it. Use whatever you want shown — it is not checked against anything, because there is nothing to check it against.

Your email address

Never published. It is kept so a reply can reach you and so a removal request can be matched to a comment. It is not added to the mailing list, it is not used to market anything to you, and it is not sold or shared.

What you wrote

Stored, and published on the post once it has been read. The time it arrived is stored with it.

Nothing appears until it has been read

Every comment arrives unpublished and stays that way until it is reviewed by hand. This is partly to keep spam off the page and partly because a reply is the point — a question that nobody reads is not worth asking.

A comment may be left unpublished without explanation. That is a judgement about the page, not a claim about you, and you can ask what happened.

The mailing list

Separate, and only if you ask for it. One address, used to send new writing and nothing else. Every email carries a working unsubscribe link, and leaving is immediate.

Measurement

This site uses Plausible, which sets no cookie and records nothing that identifies a person. There is no advertising network on this site, no tracking pixel, and no third-party comment service — which is why comments are stored on our own server rather than by somebody else.

How long things are kept

A published comment stays until you ask for it to go. An unpublished one is kept while it might still be answered, and is removed when it will not be. Mailing list addresses are removed when you unsubscribe.

Removing something

Email privacy@sagoma.app and say which comment. It will be removed. You do not have to give a reason and you will not be asked to justify it.

Changes

If this changes, the date at the top changes with it. There is no notification list for policy changes and this page does not pretend there is.
